KIPONA Music – A Label by Women, for Women in the Performing Arts
KIPONA Music is a female-led label dedicated to supporting and promoting women artists in the performing arts, with a particular focus on Lubumbashi and the broader Congolese and Central African artistic scene. Launched with the support of the European Union in 2023 through the ACP-EU Culture Programme – 3rd Call “Créer en Afrique Centrale”, the project aims to empower women artists by providing them with professional tools, visibility, and long-term development support.
KIPONA Music serves both as a launch platform for emerging talent and as a development hub for more established projects. Open to all women working in the performing arts—regardless of age, experience, or artistic discipline—the label provides tailored support adapted to each stage of an artist’s journey.
More than just a label, KIPONA acts as a bridge: part manager, part publicist, and a trusted intermediary in technical, administrative, and media-related negotiations. It is designed to be a solid and supportive ally, helping artists navigate the often complex terrain of cultural production and dissemination.
In addition to its professional services, KIPONA Music is also a safe space for exchange and mentorship. Any member artist who has signed the label’s charter can seek advice, share concerns, or connect with peers through the structure.
Initially established in Lubumbashi, the project is built in collaboration with local and international partners in Lubumbashi, Kinshasa, and Belgium. Its ambition is to foster collaborations between women artists—locally, nationally, and internationally—while also supporting the distribution and circulation of their work.
KIPONA Music is rooted in the values of solidarity, co-creation, and sustainability. It is a label built with women, for women, and for the generations of female artists yet to come.

Deninga Music – Independent Music Label for Creative Freedom and Artistic Integrity
Deninga Music is an independent structure dedicated to artist management, music production, and music publishing. Based on a strong commitment to creative freedom, the label was founded to support both emerging and established artists in producing innovative and authentic musical works—free from the standardised expectations often imposed by major labels.
The label’s mission is to offer a space where artists can develop their projects with more artistic liberty and fewer constraints dictated by streaming algorithms or commercial trends. Deninga Music values originality, experimentation, and long-term artistic development.
The first release under Deninga Music is « Shy Girl », the fourth album by Belgian-Congolese singer-songwriter Sarah Carlier. This album marks a turning point in her career, after years of compromise with larger record companies whose objectives no longer aligned with her creative vision. « Shy Girl » embodies the spirit of independence and artistic renewal that defines Deninga Music.
With a focus on integrity, innovation, and cultural diversity, Deninga Music aims to be a home for artists who want to reclaim control over their sound and storytelling.
